I was initially drawn to the intricate mechanical design of vintage rangefinder and SLR film cameras. To improve my manual focus and exposure skills, I practiced using 135 format Kodak 200 color film. The vibrant, vintage colors of Kodak film always fascinated me.
Last summer, I started using medium format color film, which produces pictures of even higher quality. Because my medium format camera is manual and can only shoot 16 frames per roll, it forces me to slow down and carefully consider the composition and meaning of my pictures before taking them.
